What’s going on at Longfellow’s? The Shade House is gone and so are the pine trees. Something’s happening!
We are expanding and improving!
On the artist’s rendition of what the expansion should look like, you can see that we are adding two more bays to the Terrace increasing our “covered shopping” area. Some of the shade-loving plants will continue to be in this expanded Terrace area, but we will be moving some of the shade area to under the sycamore tree, to which we have already made improvements.
We hope to increase our pottery selection as we now have a better area for shopping. Mulch, compost, and bagged materials can have a better home. Early season plants like pansies and lettuce will be better protected in the new Terrace during those sudden cold snaps.
We are excited to see how this new area will work out, arranging displays and benches, deciding on walkway configurations, and decorating for the spring season.
The posts are going up this week and the framework should be in place by mid-February.
Here are some photos we took while getting the area ready. Our crew has been busy dismantling and preparing while we are waiting on delivery of the framework.
Longfellow’s…..always growing for you!
