Brussels Sprouts
Brussels Sprouts prefer to grow in cooler temperatures, along with other cole crops. Brussels sprouts should be harvested when the sprouts are about one inch in diameter. The lowest sprouts will be ready to harvest first, followed later by the upper sprouts.
The varieties we grow are:
- Jade Cross – This extra-early variety produces medium-firm, deep green sprouts. 90 days to maturity.
- Long Island Green – Stocky, semi-dwarf plants will produce green sprouts. 90 days to maturity.
Plants are available for purchase at Longfellow’s:
March 1 – April 15 for spring crops
August 1 – 31 for fall crops
