Paeonia
Herbaceous Peony, Garden Peony
Herbaceous peonies are very hardy perennials that bloom in early to mid-spring, depending on the variety. In the fall, stems need to be pruned back to a few inches above ground level. Optimum growth is achieved in an area with fertile, well drained soil and full sun. Flowers are excellent cut flowers.
