Hydrangea paniculata
The Quick Fire family of panicle hydrangeas are some of the earliest to bloom and boast a bright red-pink color as fall temperatures start to drop.
Quick Fire – 6 to 8 ft tall and wide
Quick Fire Fab – 6 to 8 ft tall x 5 to 6 ft wide
Little Quick Fire – 3 to 5 ft tall and wide
Tiny Quick Fire – 1.5 to 3 ft tall x 2 to 3 ft wide
Tolerant of full sun and all soil types, panicle hydrangeas are the most versatile hydrangea species.
Blooms emerge white in early-mid summer and the color change is dependent on temperature rather than soil pH.
Panicle hydrangeas bloom on new wood and can be cut back while dormant to maintain strong, dense growth.
Panicle hydrangeas are great for cut flowers. Dried flowers left on the stems also add visual interest to the winter garden.
