Physocarpus opulifolius
'Summer Wine'
An exciting, improved Ninebark with neat, compact branching and fine deeply cut, dark crimson-red leaves. A heavenly hybrid which combines the fine texture and compact branching of Physocarpus ‘Nana’ with the dark foliage of Diabolo. It requires little pruning. This native variety has pinkish-white, button-like flowers in mid-summer. It is very showy and extremely hardy. Prized as a landscape shrub and as a cut flower.
