Asarum splendens

Chinese Wild Ginger

Chinese Wild Ginger features thick heart-shaped, dark green leaves that are mottled with silver.  Cup-shaped, insignificant, purplish brown flowers give the plant its nickname, “Little Brown Jug”, and appear in spring, under the foliage at ground-level.  Plants are semi-evergreen and have a spreading habit, great for use as a groundcover.
